The Future Travel Coalition has launched a trade survey to get feedback from businesses to help with the group’s lobbying ahead of the Budget in November.
The research aims to take stock of how businesses are faring in the current climate, “particularly given the tax and national insurance changes introduced earlier this year, and the wider economic challenges”.
The survey is asking businesses to provide feedback on bookings and trading expectations, with the Future Travel Coalition noting that any information provided is used anonymously.
The survey is open to all businesses that are members of the organisations that are part of the Future Travel Coalition. To access the survey click here. The deadline for responses is November 14.
The Future Travel Coalition is a group of trade bodies and organisations that work together on shared lobbying goals, including promoting the value of leisure and business travel to the UK economy. It works with the UK government and devolved administrations.
Abta research shows that international travel supports 1.4 million jobs and contributes £83 billion to the economy, with £52 billion from outbound travel alone.
Mark Tanzer, chief executive of Abta, said: “The Future Travel Coalition is an important forum for bodies across the organised travel sector to work together on areas of common interest.
“Both Abta members and the wider industry have benefited from this co-ordinated approach since it was formed five years ago.
“Government often tells us of the importance of having a single and unified voice, and the Coalition is the industry’s way of delivering that.
“The findings from these surveys support our conversations and lobbying activities with government and MPs, and we encourage as many businesses as possible to respond.
“Our eyes are firmly focused on the Budget, the decisions the Chancellor may take and how they may affect businesses and consumers.
“Evidence from Future Travel Coalition surveys help to support this work, and last week we shared Abta’s submission to the Treasury ahead of the Budget, outlining areas important to our members and the wider industry.”
