The first episode of the new Holland America Line series on Channel 4 will air next week, it has been confirmed.
The opening instalment of Supercruising: Life at Sea will be broadcast at 8pm on Thursday, July 3, and will also be available to stream on Channel4.com.
The eight-part docuseries, narrated by actor Nick Brimble, will capture behind-the-scenes experiences of crew and passengers on the line’s Pinnacle Class ships, Rotterdam and Nieuw Statendam, over three voyages to destinations in the Panama Canal, the Caribbean, South America, Canary Islands and North Africa.
The first episode will introduce members of the crew, including captain Eric Barhorst and executive chef Jundiel Marcelo with his culinary team of 200 staff, as well as show shore excursions such as horse-riding in the lagoon of private island Relaxaway, Half Moon Cay.
The following seven episodes will be broadcast throughout the summer.
Karen Farndell, UK director of sales and marketing at Holland America Line, said: “We can’t wait for the series to air next week and showcase everything that makes Holland America an unforgettable experience.
“All the highlights of travelling with us, both on and off our ships, are perfectly brought to life.
“And the show will ideally equip agents to inspire their customers and confidently sell our cruises.
“As we mark our first season sailing from Dover in a decade, there’s no better time to engage with us and turn that connection into bookings.”
