Ponant Explorations has waived solo surcharges on most of its voyages allowing travellers to book double staterooms or suites without an extra charge.
The operator claims to be “one of the only luxury cruise lines” to waive the single supplement and has made the change as “interest in solo travel hits new highs”, particularly amid growing demand for bucket list adventures.
The new solo-friendly policy is designed to support solo travellers and groups of “solo friends” wanting to travel together on expeditions or luxury yachting experiences.
The line has 160 cruises with solo staterooms available, with each sold to a certain capacity on each ship.
Ponant Explorations has highlighted two itineraries – the Journey to Austral Lands and Valdes Peninsula and The Geographic North Pole – as “upcoming solo-friendly highlights” for 2026, each starting at £12,360 and £32,560 per person.
UK and Ireland general manager Anthony Daniels said: “Solo travellers often seek introspection, and the polar regions provide unmatched stillness, vastness and personal space – with no compromise on comfort.
“Equally, with as few as 132 guests, Ponant Explorations’ small ships make it easy to meet like-minded travellers on curated excursions and shared experiences.
“The value of all-inclusive pricing, expert-led excursions and seamless logistics also offer true peace of mind and clarity for solo bookers.”
