This Caribbean gem, known as One Happy Island, is just a direct flight away
Aruba is small in size, but big in appeal. Encircled by warm Caribbean waters and defined by powder-soft beaches bathed in year-round sunshine, Aruba is the perfect destination for clients seeking a sun-soaked island getaway.
Beautiful beaches
Islands across the Caribbean are synonymous with postcard-perfect beaches, and Aruba is no exception. The coastline is punctuated by breathtaking stretches of sand, with one of the biggest showstoppers being Eagle Beach – a must-visit spot in the northeast, which Tripadvisor hailed this year as the best beach in the Caribbean (and the second best in the world).
The pair of fofoti trees that stand proudly on its shore – despite (or perhaps, because of) the fact that they have been shaped into twists by coastal winds – are an iconic landmark of Aruba, with visitors gathering for an up-close look at what has grown to be a cherished symbol of resilience.
It’s not just nature that Eagle Beach is famous for. It’s also the widest beach on the island, with pristine sands perfect for soaking up the sun. If simple sunbathing doesn’t appeal to your clients, there are plenty of watersports available (including snorkelling) so they can get up close and personal with the island’s rainbow of marine life. Plus, between March and September, lucky visitors may be able to catch a glimpse of hatching turtles.
Year-round paradise
As of March this year, British Airways flies direct to Aruba. The flight takes 11‑and-a-half hours, including a short stop in Antigua, and departs Gatwick twice a week year-round.
Whichever time of year your clients choose to visit, they’ll be welcomed by famously friendly locals – the island has one of the Caribbean’s lowest crime rates – as well as glorious weather. Aruba’s unique position on the edge of the hurricane belt means the island enjoys constant sunshine and, better yet, no rainy season – making it the perfect sun-soaked destination.
