Parent support group Back In Time for Bed has organised its second family fun day, which will again take place on Royal Caribbean International’s Anthem of the Seas in Southampton.
The Facebook travel industry forum has 60 places available for the fun day, which will take place on August 11.
As well as activities for parents and children, the event will be a networking opportunity and a chance to experience what the ship has to offer.
Launched in February 2023, Back In Time For Bed is the brainchild of Vicky Billing, UK & Ireland head of trade and partnerships for Riviera Travel, and Anna Perrott, partnerships director at Panache Cruises (pictured at last year’s event).
Perrott said: “It a great opportunity for families to share memories on amazing products we’re fortunate to sell.
“Demand was so high last year that we wanted to replicate the same family fun day and give more people the opportunity.
“It’s great to see those that went on it last year still sharing photos and experiences from the ship.”
The Facebook group has now grown to 900 members and has taken on extra volunteers to help with the website and events.
Perrott said on Facebook: “Due to the huge success of this group, it has now reached a point we have had to ask for some help! The irony we created a group for working parents and promoting work/life balance but Vicky and I have been swamped…”
The team now includes Lucy Paterson (DoSomethingDifferent), Julie Berry (Berry Consulting), Jemma Bridges (Club Med) and Michael Young-Richards (Celebrity Cruises).
Perrott added: “With the new team members onboard we have the opportunity to share more content on work/life balance in the industry as well as promoting best workplaces for families.
“It will widen our network even further and grow our Facebook group which is now at 900 members.”
The group has also recently posted a “survival” guide with tips for parents facing the six-week school holiday period, featuring ideas about activities, days out and food.
