Newmarket adds André Rieu concerts in London and Leeds

Newmarket Holidays has launched concert packages to see Dutch violinist André Rieu in London and Leeds for the first time, along with “returning favourites” in Liverpool and Belfast.

The escorted tour specialist has also opened bookings for 2024 summer concerts by the “King of the Waltz” in his hometown of Maastricht, with 10% savings on selected André Rieu tours booked by February 4.

Packages includes tickets to watch Rieu perform with his 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra choir, soloists and special guests, with time to explore the host city.

The operator has two new London packages for three or four-day short breaks on a B&B basis.

The three-day tour departs May 18, 2024, costing from £326. It gives guests the freedom to explore London at their own pace and make their own way to Rieu’s concert at the Ovo Arena in Wembley.

The four-day option departing May 17, 2024, costs from £659 and includes coach travel to the event, plus a 24-hour Big Bus and Thames River Cruise tour ticket to see London attractions.

In Leeds, the four-day package departs May 15, 2024, and costs from £539. It includes a guided tour of York and a visit to the World of James Herriot attraction followed by a trip to Thirsk, hometown of James Alfred Wight, who took the pen name James Herriot to create All Creatures Great and Small.

Newmarket has two five-day packages for the concerts in Maastricht, departing July 4 and 11, 2024.

They cost from £1,079 and include visits to Amsterdam and Antwerp, before flying back to the UK.

Verity Rice, purchasing, product and operations director at Newmarket Holidays, said: “André Rieu has been a key part of our product range for more than 10 years and we’ve taken tens of thousands of customers to see him perform an unforgettable repertoire with his orchestra.

“With new breaks in London and Leeds, we have a great range of options for agents with packages that can match their customers’ budgets or location.

“We’re also running an early bird offer to help agents secure early bookings.”
