Work starts on third Emerald Cruises yacht

Construction of new Scenic Group yacht Emerald Kaia has started with an official shipyard steel cutting ceremony.

The first sheets of steel for the ship’s hull were cut in Vietnam following a keel laying ceremony at Halong Shipbuilding Company.

The third addition to Emerald Cruises’ luxury yacht fleet is due to enter service in April 2026.

The 128-passenger Emerald Kaia will cruise in the Mediterranean and Adriatic as well as the Aegean and the Seychelles.

The vessel will feature a revamped Sky Deck with private cabanas and a new Sky Lounge, providing an open-air experience for passengers.

Dining options include the Night Market Grill, an Asian-style concept that can accommodate up to eight passengers for a supplementary fee. A larger terrace for al fresco dining at La Cucina restaurant will also be featured.

Bookings have opened for eight-day Adriatic cruises, starting at £4,657 per person.

Scenic Group chairman and founder Glen Moroney said: “We are thrilled to announce construction has begun on Emerald Kaia, following the cutting of the first steel in Vietnam.

“Building on the spectacular success of the first two yachts in Emerald Cruises fleet, this pivotal expansion not only reflects the soaring interest and desire for luxury ocean yachts, however, also reinforces our commitment to setting new standards in maritime excellence.”
