Royal Caribbean gives away further £34k to independent agencies

Royal Caribbean International has financially backed five agency businesses in the latest round of its Royal Pitch trade investment competition.

The third round of the competition, which was held at the line’s UK offices in Weybridge, Surrey, saw Fahy Travel, Delmar World Travel, Club Voyages, All Aboard Ship Ahoy and Cruise Holidays UK win a combined £34,000.

The agencies’ proposals ranged from events, community radio station partnerships and content creation.

A judging panel including entrepreneur and Reggae Reggae Sauce creator Levi Roots and Stuart Byron, sales director for the UK, Ireland and Spain, decided what amount of funding to award each agency.

Byron said: “Round three of the Royal Pitch was competitive, with some strong ideas making it through to the judging stage.

“The other judges and I felt that all the agents who presented to us merited investment at some level and we were impressed by the creativity and originality of the propositions.”

He added: “I’m eager to see what the final round of the Royal Pitch brings, now that entries have re-opened. We still have a large share of investment set aside for the top ideas.”

Agencies have until January 30 to enter the final round of the Royal Pitch competition.

Agents must submit a video via the Club Royal website detailing their creative business proposal and requested investment in under five minutes.
