Tui is offering agents a discount on their own holiday in a move described as a company first.
The offer, which was introduced on Monday (July 14), enables independent agents to save up to £100 on their own trip.
Jill Cunningham, Tui’s director of retail, omnichannel and third-party sales in the UK, said: “We believe our independent travel agent partners deserve the same unforgettable experiences they help create for others.
“By offering exclusive discounts on their own holidays, Tui is saying thank you – rewarding their hard work, deepening our partnership and encouraging them to experience a Tui holiday first-hand.”
A minimum of £499 must be spent, before any extras or upgrades, for the saving to be accessed.
A discount of £50 can be claimed on short-haul and mid-haul trips, or short-haul, mid-haul and long-haul trips where third-party flights are involved.
The £100 discount applies to long-haul packages, and also to Marella and river cruises – including cruise and stay packages.
Tui said the discount will not apply to departures “within 84 days of the booking date”.
Agents must complete a form within seven days of confirming the booking. Proof of employment needs to be supplied alongside the form, and the agent must be employed by one of Tui’s trade partners at the time of booking. The agent must be the lead passenger.
The discount will be applied up to 28 days after the form has been submitted, with a new confirmation being sent out once the saving has been applied.
Tui said it was the first time it had introduced such an offer for agents.
