WEST MIDLANDS Co-op Travel has teamed up with new operator Poo UK to offer packages to the Indian region of Amritsar.
The Co-op has been appointed the main regional agent for the new service, which will start from November 1. It is the only direct service to the region with current flights travelling only via Delhi or other stop-off points.
West Midlands Co-op’s travel services controller Geoff Hurmson said: “This is a unique product for a huge market and will be very popular with passengers from all over the region.”
The service to Amritsar will be operated by charter airline Flyjet on a Boeing 757 aircraft. Poo UK expects to carry more than 50,000 people in its first year of operation.
