Windstar Cruises has completed a refurbishment of its original sailing yacht Wind Star.
The upgrade was carried out in two phases to bring a “comprehensive redesign” to the vessel with enhanced dining venues, updated staterooms and refreshed public areas.
The refurbishment forms part of the luxury line’s Setting Sails project, which will transform the Wind Class fleet.
Wind Surf will be next to undergo upgrades in December 2026, followed by Wind Spirit in March 2027.
Wind Star will sail voyages in the Mediterranean throughout spring 2026, followed by the Greek Isles in the summer and autumn before relocating to Tahiti in 2027 to join Star Breeze.
On Wind Star, Amphora, the signature restaurant on board, has been redesigned with new flooring, wall and ceiling finishes, banquette seating and updated furnishings, while Veranda has gained a “reimaged buffet layout” to create more space.
Staterooms have had new upholstered headboards, integrated lighting, bedside charging, Starlink connectivity and TVs with on-demand content added, in addition to the Owner’s Suite being revamped.
The lobby, lounge, Yacht Club Café, pool deck, spa and fitness centre have also been upgraded, and commissioned artwork added throughout the ship.
Chief operating officer Stijn Creupelandt said: “This transformation is about honouring where we started while sailing confidently into what’s next.
“As our original sailing yacht, Wind Star has always held a special place in our fleet.
“With these significant updates, we’ve honoured what guests love most while elevating every aspect of the experience. Now, she’s ready to deliver that experience in entirely new ways, in some of the world’s most iconic destinations.”
