The Air Travel Insolvency Protection Advisory Committee (Atipac), which advises the government, CAA and Air Travel Trust on consumer financial protection, is seeking new members but applications need to be submitted quickly.
The committee meets at least four times a year and advises on consumer financial protection policy, the Air Travel Trust Payment policy, the promotion of Atol protection to consumers, market conditions and emerging market trends and their impact on financial protection, and the financial viability of the Air Travel Trust.
Set up in 2000, it includes representatives of the main travel trade bodies and the CAA as well as independent and consumer representatives.
Atipac members are appointed by the CAA chief executive, with applications reviewed by committee chair Sandra Webber who was previously director of consumer support at the CAA and worked at the Department for Transport.
She is looking for industry representatives “committed to helping to shape the landscape for the financial protection of air travellers and customers of air travel organisers”.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate relevant expert knowledge and experience in the industry.
The industry posts are unpaid although expenses will be covered. Independent members are paid a day rate.
