A group of female industry leaders have launched a private members’ club specialising in luxury solo travel for women.
Club Avandra aims to offer “stylish, curated, expert-led experiences” for its “global, high-net-worth community of like-minded women”.
The team behind the “new travel movement” includes Travel Seen owner and former ITC president Jen Atkinson (pictured); Finn PR managing partner Debbie Flynn; global travel executive Julia Kemp and multi-award-winning travel journalist Marianne Jones.
Annual membership costs £400 – with an introductory offer of £250 for the first 100 people who sign-up – which enables members to browse and book escorted Club Avandra trips.
Membership also grants access to “bespoke experiences” and a monthly newsletter edited by Jones.
The initial trips available for members to book include ’Ancient Jordan with Debbie Flynn’, ’Malta with Marianne Jones’ and ’Helsinki sanctuary for the soul with Marja Putkitso’.
Club Avandra said each trip “offers its own unique style and appeal for women that crave the freedom of travelling alone with the connection of a curated community”.
At the Club Avandra launch event in London, Atkinson said the idea was inspired by the level of growth in the solo female travel market.
She added: “Solo female travel is one of the most powerful growth opportunities in our sector, yet the luxury segment has been ignored.
“With Club Avandra, we are setting a new standard, blending style, safety and community with the operational expertise to grow a brand that both offers a meaningful proposition for women who want to travel on their terms, while delivering real impact to the sector by filling a significant gap for solo female travel.”
