Tui UK and Ireland’s director of retail, Jill Carter, is to change roles to take up a position with Thomson Airways.
She will become director of customer delivery for the airline on February 1 after almost 25 years working in retail for Tui UK and Ireland. The move also sees Carter join the board for Thomson Airways.
Carter was appointed director of retail in February last year following the departure of Kathryn Darbandi, who moved to Thomas Cook.
In a statement, Tui said: “We would like to announce that director of retail Jill Carter will be taking on a new role from February 1, 2016 as director of customer delivery for Thomson Airways.
“Jill, who has been with the company for 25 years, will use her extensive retail background, proven leadership and collaboration skills as well as passion, commitment and a strong focus on results, as she takes on this exciting new challenge.”
She was tasked with leading the transformation of the retail business’s 649 shops in the UK and Ireland and reported into customer operations director Fraser Ellacott.
Carter joined Tui UK & Ireland in 1991. She soon became regional sales manager and then a divisional sales manager. She played a major role in the design of the new retail service model and the implementation of Thomson’s new Holiday Design Stores.
Tui said a new director of retail will be announced “in due course”.
