Virgin will open its first European hotel in Edinburgh this summer and bookings are now live.
The first Virgin Hotel outside the US will open on June 1, after its original 2020 opening date was delayed by the Covid pandemic.
The 222-room hotel will be located in the India Buildings in Edinburgh’s Old Town, near the Royal Mile.

It will feature multiple dining and drinking outlets including the Commons Club, Virgin Hotels’ flagship restaurant and bar, and Eve, an all-day restaurant with late-night entertainment.
The hotel site is home to a 19th century church that has been restored and repurposed as an events venue.
Additionally, the hotel will feature a rooftop garden with views of Edinburgh Castle.
James Bermingham, chief executive of Virgin Hotels, said: “Edinburgh is such an iconic city and we’re thrilled it will be the home of the first Virgin Hotels in the UK and across Europe.
“Through dynamic contextual design and neighbourhood-centric influence, the new hotel will be a cultural city hub, with a design that sustains the building’s heritage while adding a vibrant, new style to the area.”
Scotland will become home to a second Virgin Hotel later this year, with a sister site scheduled to open in Glasgow.
A New York Virgin Hotel is also expected to open this year, followed by a hotel in Miami in 2025.
