JMC has confirmed it is investing £100m in two new Boeing 757-300s for delivery next spring.
The news came as the airline was officially launched following the rebranding of the Flying Colours Airlines fleet.
The new aircraft will take the fleet to 30 with around 90% of business coming from in-house tour operations.
JMC Airlines managing director Terry Soult said the two new aircraft will be fuel efficient.
The 280-seat aircraft is suitable for European destinations, North Africa and the US.
Soult added that a review of its long-haul fleet is being carried out. He said Boeing 767s and Airbus A330s are possible replacements for the aging DC10s.
“Once the review has completed we will look at introducing a two-class service for 2001,” he said.
Soult added that $10m has been saved though closer co-operation with sister German carrier Hapag Lloyd.
