The number of flights from UK airports this month is set to reach 89% of pre-Covid August 2019 levels, according to latest data.
The highest number of UK departures have been scheduled since October 2019 as the post-pandemic recovery continues, aviation analytics firm Cirium projected.
A total of 92,549 flights are due to leave from UK airports – equating to more than 16.5 million seats. This compares to 104,007 flights recorded in August 2019
Scheduled UK departures are up 11% compared to the same month last year and up 101% compared to August 2021, as travellers resume business and leisure trips.
Turkey has seen the highest rebound in services, with a 46% recovery from 2,488 in August 2019 to 3,630 UK departures this month.
Greece, Morocco, Portugal, the US and Croatia have all seen an increase in the number of flights from the UK while the steepest falls are to Germany, Malta, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Cyprus.
Dublin is the most popular international destination by scheduled flights this month, followed by Amsterdam, Palma, Malaga and Faro.
