British Airways to operate Heathrow-Izmir route from May

British Airways will begin operating a route from Heathrow to Izmir in Turkey from May 2024.

The airline will fly once a week to the destination from May 18, departing Terminal 5 at 6.30am and landing at 10.30am local time.

Return flights will depart at 11.35am on Saturdays and land at Heathrow at 3.50pm. Return fares lead in at £146.

Izmir will become the airline’s fifth Turkish destination in its network, alongside Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman.

British Airways said: “Izmir is a city of Turkey’s Aegean coast which is well-know for its sandy beaches in addition to a rich archaeological and historic heritage.”
