A new boss has been named by Lufthansa Group to oversee commercial and sales activities across northern Europe.
London-based Sven Thaler heads the UK, Ireland, Nordics, Baltics and the Netherlands as senior director sales northern Europe.
He steers the commercial and sales activities for all airlines in the group – Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Discover Airlines, Air Dolomiti and Edelweiss – within a sales region that covers 11 countries.
Thaler has succeeded Heinrich Lange, who has returned to Germany to take on a new role as group head of digital retailing.
A former pilot, Thaler reports to Lorenza Maggio, vice president sales EMEA for Lufthansa Group Airlines.
He was previously responsible for 37 European stations in 11 countries as regional manager ground operations continental north.
Thaler will lead an established local sales management for Lufthansa Group Airlines including Frank Wagner for the UK, Ireland and Iceland.
