Budget carriers Ryanair and Wizz Air both saw a rise in February passenger carryings.
The increases compare with February 2022 when UK Covid travel restrictions were removed following the Omicron variant and Russia invaded Ukraine.
Ryanair numbers increased by 22% year-on-year to 10.6 million with an improved load factor of 92% as it operated 60,400 flights.
This gave a rolling annual total of 167.2 million passengers.
Wizz Air carryings soared by 97% last month over February 2022.
The Hungarian budget carrier flew more than 3.7 million passengers compared with less than 2 million in the same month last year to give a rolling 12 month total of 49.2 million.
The February load factor improved by 2.3 percentage points year-on-year to 93.3%.
The performance figures came days after the airline announced the suspension of flights to the Moldovan capital of Chisinau from March 14 due to safety and security concerns.
The airline is adding a ninth Airbus A221neo to the fleet of its Abu Dhabi-based offshoot.
