Ryanair has announced its biggest-ever Bristol schedule for summer 2023, featuring 33 routes including additions to Bydgoszcz, Porto, Marseille and Venice.
As part of the expansion, which forms part of a $500m investment in the southwest region, the airline will base a fifth aircraft at the airport and increase frequencies of nine existing routes including Dublin, Limoges, Milan and Palma.
The investment will also support 150 aviation jobs and 1,500 indirect jobs at Bristol airport.
Ryanair chief executive officer Eddie Wilson said the airline was “delighted” to announce the growth.
Dave Lees, Bristol airport chief executive, said: “We are delighted with Ryanair’s announcement increasing the 2023 flight programme to its largest ever schedule from Bristol airport. This is a clear demonstration of confidence returning in the region for air travel.
“Expanding Ryanair’s route network and adding extra capacity to existing routes, gives customers in the southwest easy and affordable access to air travel on an increasing number of destinations and flexibility of stay lengths, without the need to travel to other airports for their flights.”
Ryanair will also expand its operations from Liverpool John Lennon airport in summer 2023 by adding new routes to Ibiza, Madrid, and Shannon.
Flights to Ibiza will begin on March 28 and operate weekly, while the Madrid service will commence the following day with three weekly departures.
Shannon flights will start on March 26 and operate twice weekly, becoming Ryanair’s fourth destination in Ireland served from Liverpool in addition to Cork, Dublin and Knock, with up to 46 Irish departures per week being offered next summer.
