Fully vaccinated travellers and those who have recovered from Covid-19 will no longer be required to take a PCR test to enter the UAE.
The easing of restrictions was confirmed by UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA).
Travellers will now be required to present a vaccination certificate for a WHO or UAE-approved vaccine, with unvaccinated travellers required to present a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of departure of proof of recovery.
Dubai-based Emirates confirmed the move on its website, while a post on the Etihad Airways Instagram account said: “Good news! No PCR test needed to fly to Abu Dhabi if you are fully vaccinated, hold a Covid-19 recovery certificate or are under 16 years old.
Regulations have also been eased within the UAE, with masks remaining mandatory in public indoor spaces but optional outdoors.
Physical distancing requirements have also been removed for tourism and hospitality businesses, though mask-wearing is still mandatory in enclosed places.
