Wizz Air confirms order for 75 new generation aircraft

Wizz Air has confirmed an order for 75 new generation Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Shareholders at a general meeting of the Hungarian low cost carrier approved the purchase for an undisclosed sum.

The airline also saw off an investor revolt against its directors’ pay policies.

However, more than a quarter rejected the airline’s remuneration policy, its bonus plan and directors’ remuneration report for the financial year to March 31.

Varadi said: “With today’s announcement, Wizz Air further reinforces its position as the largest A321neo family operator in Europe and the Middle East.

“We have enjoyed a longstanding strategic partnership with Airbus and are steadfast in our commitment to this exceptional technology with one of the largest outstanding order books in the world of more than 350 neo aircraft.”

Wizz Air currently has a fleet of more than 180 A320 family aircraft.
