MSC to deploy third World Class ship in Med

Bookings have opened for the maiden season of sailings by MSC Cruises’ latest World Class ship MSC World Asia.

The vessel will make its debut in the Mediterranean from December 2026.

The third iteration of the line’s World Class series – each of which is named in homage to the world’s continents – is due to enter service on December 11, 2026 for that winter’s season.

The ship will run seven-night sailings to Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta, and will continue the itinerary in summer 2027.

MSC World Asia will be line’s least LNG-powered World Class vessel following MSC World Europa and the soon-to-be-launched MSC World America, which is set to start sailing in the Caribbean from Miami from April.

The vessel will feature “subtle design elements that reflect Asia’s rich culture, art, and beautiful landscapes,” according to the line.

Chief executive Gianni Onorato said: “We have chosen to deploy our latest flagship in the western Mediterranean as it is our most popular region.

“MSC World Asia will further enhance our lineup in the region, giving guests even more choice of embarkation ports and itineraries for their winter escape or summer holiday.

“As with each of our new ships, we’ll introduce innovative new concepts, venues and services to deliver the ultimate cruise experience for our guests.”

MSC Voyager’s Club members who book by February 13 will receive 1,000 extra points, plus an onboard credit of €50 per person.
