Royal Caribbean has held a float-out ceremony for its latest Icon Class ship, Star of the Seas, at its shipyard in Finland.
The milestone took place in Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, following nearly 19 months of construction.
Construction on the inside of the ship will continue at its outfitting yard ahead of its scheduled launch at Port Canaveral, Florida, in August 2025.
The new ship promises “new twists and acclaimed experiences introduced by Icon of the Seas”.
There will be eight neighbourhoods on board, including one designed for young families, six waterslides, and more than 40 restaurants.
Star of the Seas will sail seven-night Caribbean cruises which make stops at the cruise line’s Perfect Day at Coco-Cay in the Bahamas.
