Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) president David Herrera has stepped down from his position, with a search currently underway for his replacement.
Harry Sommer, president and chief executive of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, is taking on the role of brand president on an interim basis.
The company said Herrera’s departure was part of a “strategic leadership change”, adding that a “robust search” for his successor was ongoing.
Sommer said: “I am excited to work closer with the team at NCL to capitalise on the many opportunities ahead as we embark on our search for the next leader who will guide the brand into the future.
“David Herrera has been a dedicated member of our leadership team, and we are grateful for his decade of contributions to NCL’s growth and success. We wish him the very best in his next chapter.”
He added that NCL was “well-positioned for meaningful growth”, citing the seven “next-generation” ships on order as well as enhancements being carried out at private island Great Stirrup Cay and an expanded Caribbean presence.
The company said a “leading” executive search firm was looking for Herrera’s successor.
