Heathrow Terminal 4 reopened on Monday evening after being evacuated while emergency services responded to a "possible hazardous materials incident".
A statement from the airport said the terminal had been deemed safe to open and all efforts would be made to ensure flights departed as planned.
The London Fire Brigade also confirmed it was standing down and confirmed around 20 people in the terminal’s check-in area had been attended to by paramedics.
The Metropolitan Police said "around twenty people reported an injury, none were deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing" and added: “No trace of any adverse substance was found.”
It said investigations were ongoing into the cause of the reported injuries.
The Heathrow statement said: "Emergency services have confirmed Terminal 4 is safe to reopen and we are doing everything we can to ensure all flights to depart as planned today.
"We are very sorry for the disruption caused, the safety and security of our passengers and colleagues is our number one priority.
"We encourage passengers to check with their airline for the latest information about their flight this evening and our colleagues will be on hand into the night to assist."
The fire brigade confirmed it was first called to the airport at 5.01pm, with Heathrow asking passengers not to travel to Terminal 4 while the incident was underway.
Heathrow’s other terminals continue to operate as normal throughout.
