CTL Maritime, part of MSC Group, and Casa de Campo Resort & Villas will enhance Catalina Island in the Dominican Republic for the use of all cruise passengers and hotel clients.
Upgrades will include an open-air beach pavilion buffet with shaded dining areas, an open-air palapa bar, a water sports centre, more cabanas and daybeds, plus updated changing, shower and WC facilities.
MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys passengers will be able to visit the destination when year-round operations from La Romana in the Dominican Republic beginning in November.
MSC Opera will offer weekly sailings with seven-night itineraries which can be booked back-to-back to create a 14-night butterfly cruise.
These development plans come as MSC Group’s cruise division is set to create a second private island and a separate 20-acre beach club in the Bahamas.
