Riviera Travel has appointed Gemma Ashworth as a key account manager for home-based agents.
Ashworth has more than 25 years of experience in the travel industry, including 12 years at Carnival Cruise Line, where she was most recently senior sales manager.
She will replace Amanda Docherty, who was promoted to head of UK trade last month.
Ashworth will report to Docherty in the role and support Carrie Day, country manager for Ireland.
The appointment comes as home-based agents are the fastest-growing area of Riviera Travel’s business, with 30% year-on-year growth.
Vicky Billing, director of trade and partnerships for the UK and Ireland, said: "This appointment reinforces the importance of our trade partners to Riviera Travel.
“As I have said before, one size doesn’t fit all, and our rapid-response approach continues to resonate with our partners.
“I am excited to see how Gemma shapes this role going forward.”
Docherty added: "We are thrilled to welcome Gemma to our fantastic trade team.
“She brings a wealth of experience, but more importantly, she’s a true people person.
“I’m confident she’ll make the role her own, and her personality will be a perfect match for the team."
Ashworth said: “Joining Riviera Travel is an exciting new chapter for me, and I’m eager to contribute to a brand that delivers such incredible holidays while being part of the fantastic team culture that has been built.
“I’m particularly excited to work alongside our network of highly skilled home-based agents, whose knowledge and dedication are key to Riviera’s success, and I look forward to supporting them as they grow their businesses.”
