‘Brilliant’ Jet2.com staff thanked for finding boy’s teddy bears

Jet2.com staff have been praised for reuniting a six-year-old boy with three teddy bears after the soft toys went missing on a family holiday in Spain.

Oliver Simpson, from Heywood, Manchester, had just arrived with his parents Jill and Stewart at their hotel in Costa de Almeria when they realised that one of their bags was nowhere to be seen.

The family contacted a Jet2holidays customer helper about the missing bears, which sparked a rescue mission.

Jet2holidays destination manager Claire Hernandez said: “When the team heard the teddies were lost and how upset Oliver was, it was all hands on deck to find them for him.”

Airport customer helpers Enrique Juste Garcia and Angela Scott joined forces with resort customer helpers Martyna Kulaszewska and Christina Fischer in a bid to locate Oliver’s furry friends.

Luckily, the teddies were found on the coach that had taken the family from the airport to their hotel.

The Jet2.com team then got to work to make sure Oliver would be reunited with his beloved friends, but not before arranging for the reunion to be as memorable as possible.

With this in mind, the team took the bears on an adventure at the airport and pictured them having a drink in a café, helping to check in customers’ luggage and directing holidaymakers to their transfer coaches.

Resort customer helper Justina Tarvydaite also stepped in and wrote a letter to Oliver from his teddies, who told him all about the adventures they had been on at the airport.

Oliver was reunited with his bears at Almeria airport on his departure back to the UK. He also received the special story about his teddies’ adventures.

After the big reunion, Oliver, his parents and his three fluffy friends all flew back home.

Jill thanked the Jet2.com and Jet2holidays staff for going “above and beyond” to help her son get his teddies back.

Jill said: “Not only did they locate his belongings, they also showed Oliver the adventures his teddies went on while we were on holiday.

“This was magical and so thoughtful. My little boy was over the moon, and I even shed some tears. What a brilliant company with such caring staff.”

Hernandez said: “I am immensely proud of how the team worked together to ensure Oliver and his family left feeling elated at the return of the teddies. Their reaction was priceless.

“It is very important to all of us at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays that each and every one of our customers feels like a VIP.

“The team work extremely hard to ensure our customers have a memorable holiday, and I feel immensely proud of the team’s achievements in Almeria. It never ceases to amaze me just how far they will go to make our customers happy.”
