The Expedition Cruise Network (ECN) will run two “bootcamps” designed to train agents on selling Antarctica.
The events will be hosted by two ECN members and take place at Silversea’s London office on July 17 and Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours’ office in Manchester on July 18.
Each event will be open to 12 agents who will hear from five operators about their Antarctica programmes, “equipping attendees with the knowledge and skills to sell expedition cruising to the white continent”, the ECN said.

The network has also released an Antarctica selling guide to support agents, providing information on operators in the region, highlights of a trip to the destination, how the continent is protected, conservation projects and sales tips.
ECN chief executive and co-founder Akvile Marozaite said: “Although Antarctica has become highly sought after, it is still one of the last true wildernesses on earth and a tremendously fragile environment. Visiting is a privilege.
“Our new, bespoke, face-to-face training days will provide delegates with a deep understanding of the destination, insights into key considerations when recommending expedition cruises and help travel advisors sell Antarctica responsibly.
“The bootcamps are the first of their kind and are intended to be intense training events where travel trade professionals can come together to learn about expedition cruising from ECN’s signature training courses and expedition cruise suppliers.”
