Clia is hosting a webinar for its members on the new EU border requirements for the Entry-Exit system (EES) and European Travel Information and Authorisation System (Etias).
The webinar will take place at 3pm on September 16 and include “a trade-friendly update” on the latest information from European Commission officials, followed by a Q&A session.
The EES is an automated system that will record information on non-EU nationals entering and exiting the Schengen Area, including short-stay visa holders and visa-exempt travels.
It is expected to come into force at the end of this year.
Etias will require travellers from visa-exempt non-EU countries, such as the UK, to obtain travel authorisation before entering Schengen.
This is expected to come into effect six months after the EES.
Both systems apply to all EU member states and update procedures around customs declarations and security measures.
Clia will also publish a factsheet about the two systems on its website, which is where members can sign up for the seminar.
