Hurtigruten releases two coastal itineraries for 2023

Hurtigruten has unveiled two new Norwegian coastal itineraries on its Trollfjord ship for 2023.

The 16-day round-trip Svalbard Express – Full Voyage will launch on June 3, 2023, a month ahead of the company’s 130th anniversary, and the maiden 14-day North Cape Express – Full Voyage will depart on September 26, 2023.

Prices for the Svalbard Express – Full Voyage start from £3,640 with departures from Bergen running between June to September next year.

Ports of call include Tromso; Longyearbyen; and Ny-Ålesund.

The lead-in price for The North Cape Express – Full Voyage with the operator’s Northern Lights Promise starts from £2,415.

Ports of call include Alta; Tromso; Alesund and Oslo, all Norway.

Departures run from September 2023 to March 2024.

The line offers to give passengers a free six or seven-day Classic Voyage if the Northern Lights do not appear on their North Cape Express sailing.

Hurtigruten said the itineraries offer a “significantly different experience” to its Coastal Express itinerary.

There will be half or full-day port visits; cooking classes; wine, beer, champagne and whisky tastings; an onboard cocktail bar and entertainment.

Passengers can attend cooking demonstrations and classes at an onboard food centre.

Like the line’s Coastal Express itinerary, cargo will be transported between ports during the itinerary.

Chief executive Hedda Felin said: “For almost 130 years, we have been carrying travellers on what is often referred to as ‘the most beautiful voyage in the world’.

“With the Svalbard Express and North Cape Express, we will offer an experience similar to the likes of the Orient Express, combining a premium onboard experience with beautiful scenery, exceptional excursions, and some of the best food on any sea.”
