Not in the Guidebooks seeks investment from travel agents

Experience specialist Not in the Guidebooks has announced a second crowdfunding campaign as it bids to become the go-to platform for travel agents looking to provide experiential itineraries.

The company has already raised more than £300,000 since its inception with backing from a number of angel investors – and it now wants travel agents to invest so they can “share in our success”.

Agents can invest from as little as £127 to own part of the business and there are rewards depending on the size of the investment, including access to preferential rates for their own travel and early access to products and tours.

Founder Carol Savage said: “We have always wanted to build a business for travel agents owned by travel agents.

“This campaign gives agents the chance to get in early and have a small share in a growing and very ambitious business with exciting plans to create a better more exciting travel business.”

Not In The Guidebooks specialises in experiences in a range of destinations that support local communities and offer alternatives to established tourist excursions.

It currently has relationships with agencies including Hays Travel, Midcounties and Spear Travels, and offers excursions that can be added to existing bookings or longer experiences that agents can build packages around.

Savage hopes that additional funding will “take the business to the next level”, through the addition of more options on the platform.

“Our passion and product has excited travel agents and customers alike and we’re now ready to take the business to the next level, providing more experiences, launching new and exciting itineraries, making it easier to find and book what you are looking for with more inspirational content that you can access and share easily to help you grow your business,” she added.
