Iglu Ski bookings raise nearly £4k for snowsports charity

Iglu Ski bookings have raised nearly £4,000 for a snowsports charity so far this season, almost 10 times as much as the figure reached by the same point last year.

At the time of booking with the agency, customers are invited to contribute £1 per passenger to Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK). The charity’s mission is to open snowsports to all.

In the second year of fundraising, the figure raised so far is £3,704 – which compares with £425 by the same time in 2023.

Gordon Ritter (pictured), head of product and commercial at Iglu Ski, said: “It’s heartwarming to see our guests consider the needs of others and make healthy donations to the charity.”

This year’s contributions to date will mean 247 adults and children will be able to enjoy a ski session on a UK slope.

“We’re looking forward to raising even more for DSUK this season and in the future,” said Ritter, adding: “Skiing can be so inclusive, and we love to see every guest on a slope, in the UK or overseas, enjoying the atmosphere, exercising and having fun.”

DSUK chief executive Virginia Anderson said: “Snowsport is such a great way of getting out and trying something new, having fun and challenging yourself.

“These opportunities for disabled children and adults can be life-changing as well as a lot of fun.

“We’re so grateful to Iglu Ski and their customers for helping make this happen from Cairngorm to Hemel Hempstead.”
