Iglu.com senior vice-president for global supply Simone Clark is to step down after 19 years at the agency.
She will depart the cruise and ski specialist OTA this summer and plans to “enjoy a few months off” before returning to the industry.
Clark said her departure had been planned for some time as the company’s chief executive David Gooch hailed her contribution and described her as “one of the most influential figures in the industry”.
“This has been planned for a while, as I had already stepped back to a less operational role,” Clark said.
“I love Iglu, but I want to spend less time travelling and some more time at home. I intend to enjoy a few months off and then will definitely make a return to the industry in some capacity.
“I’d like to thank my colleagues at Iglu and Planet Cruise, all the cruise line partners and everyone in the cruise industry for making the journey so much fun over the years.”
Clark said a career highlight was winning Clia’s award for outstanding contribution to the UK cruise industry.
Gooch said: “Simone has been an incredible asset to the Iglu business, notably her contribution to the launch of Iglu Cruise and growing it to become Europe’s leading cruise OTA.
“She is widely recognised as one of the most influential figures in the industry, and she will be sorely missed around the business. We wish her well in her future endeavours.”
Clark joined Iglu in 2004 and was sales and marketing director and managing director before being promoted to senior vice-president in 2017.
