Steve Barrass leaves The Appointment Group

Steve Barrass, The Appointment Group (TAG) chief executive, has left the touring, production, corporate, events and private travel specialist.

He has been replaced by chief financial officer Jens Penny.

Barrass was chief executive of TAG for almost four years. He joined in August 2018 after over four years as senior vice president of Emirates Group, and prior to that over four years as chief executive of Gold Medal Travel.

Penny joined TAG in April 2019. Previous roles include chief financial officer at dnata Travel Europe and chief financial officer at Stella Travel Services UK.

TAG has also promoted Jennifer Pratt to UK managing director. Pratt is currently TAG’s chief people officer and will combine this new role with her existing responsibilities. The company has not had a dedicated UK managing director since pre-Covid.

TAG is backed by Apiary Capital, with former JacTravel and Cosmos chief executive Terry Williamson as non-executive chairman.
