Travel Weekly is teaming up with Intrepid Travel, Avis, Silversea and Hyatt for an industry-first fashion event designed to support young female leaders within the industry and raise money for charities with projects supporting women.
The Travel Weekly Inspiring Women Fashion Forward showcase is designed to give those starting out in their careers the opportunity to build a professional wardrobe by purchasing items donated by established leaders who are keen to ‘pay it forward’.
It will also feature an address from an inspirational speaker with links to the fashion industry, and the opportunity for young team members to network with and be inspired by the women at the forefront of travel today.
All proceeds from the sale of items – ranging from workwear to evening attire and accessories – will go to charities including the Intrepid Foundation.
The event is the latest addition to a growing Inspiring Women portfolio, which includes lunches featuring guest speakers from outside the industry, a Rising Stars seminar and lunch, and an annual overseas Retreat.
The invitation-only gathering will be hosted by Hyatt at the Andaz London Liverpool Street hotel on April 27, expanding a partnership that also sees the hotel giant hosting the Inspiring Women Rising Stars lunch.
Lucy Huxley, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly, said: “This event is a unique concept in the travel industry and will be another positive addition to an Inspiring Women portfolio that continues to go from strength to strength.
“Alongside our Rising Stars lunches, this evening of networking and inspiration will support young industry executives and a number of outstanding charities while showcasing the benefits of sustainable fashion and the circular economy.
“I am very grateful to Intrepid Travel, Avis, Silversea and Hyatt for their backing and would be delighted to hear from any more companies or individuals who are keen to support.”
