A Flexible Autos sales director and her friends have raised £3,515 for Reuben’s Retreat on a charity walk in the Peak District.
Melanie Thom, sales director for the north from Flexible Autos, and six friends took part in the Edale Skyline Charity Walk last weekend in support of the charity, which helps families who have suffered the loss of a child or have a child living with medical complexities.
The Sole Mates team wore Flexible Autos sponsored hiking t-shirts, worth £1,000, which boosted the team as well as reflected the company’s continued commitment to the charity.
Thom said: “The 21-mile hike began promptly at 8am, with the first steep climb setting the tone for a challenging yet rewarding day.
“Although the skies were grey, our spirits were high and we enjoyed spectacular views across the Peak District, boosting our morale and team efforts.
“Even after one teammate twisted their ankle, we pushed through together, completing the journey by 9pm, tired, proud and delighted to have raised so much for Reuben’s Retreat.”
Sue Dixon, group managing director of Flexible Autos, commented: “Supporting Reuben’s Retreat has always been close to our hearts. We are so proud of Melanie and the team for their determination and the fantastic amount they’ve raised.
“The charity does incredible work for families of child loss and those living with complex medical needs, and we’re honoured to continue supporting such a worthy cause.”
