New Era Travel has ceased trading eight months after the sudden death of its founder Alan Godfrey.
The two-branch agency in Hampshire had been kept on by Godfrey’s sons and widow after Godfrey passed away in February at the age of 56.
Godfrey was well-known in the industry and was the former owner of cruise specialist Ocean World Travel.
The independent travel agency had two shops in Alresford and Wickham and was one of Fred Olsen Travel’s licensee agencies.
All monies were paid through Fred Olsen Travel and bookings will now be overseen by another branch.
Fred Olsen Travel retail director Paul Hardwick said: “We were deeply saddened to see them close their two branches and business.
“We have already written to all impacted customers and suppliers with affected forward holidays or cruises to advise their holiday and money is still safe and protected and will now be administered and managed by one of the Fred Olsen Travel branches."
