Wendy Wu Tours is creating dedicated business development manager roles for Scotland and the northwest of England and has appointed Sandra Foreman to the newly created position of national account manager.
The trade team expansion comes on the back of sales in Scotland and the north of England growing by 35% year on year, outpacing the national average increase of 20%.
Gary King, head of trade sales at Wendy Wu Tours, said: “Agents have fuelled the biggest growth in our history – and this expansion is for them, by them.”
He added: “This is the most exciting chapter yet for our trade partners.”
Foreman, who joined the operator in 2019, has been promoted from her role as key account manager for the north. She has been described as “instrumental” in Wendy Wu Tours doubling the size of its top-ranked UK account over the past five years.
In her new position, she will provide a single point of contact for key accounts and work closely with the BDM team on “tactical initiatives” and identifying trends.
The new BDMs are expected to be in position next month, with the recruitment process currently ongoing. Until now, Scotland and the north of England were managed as a single territory.
The new BDMs will spearhead regional campaigns aligned to local departure airports, replicating the “hugely successful” Irish model.

By splitting the north and Scotland, creating specialist BDMs and appointing a national account manager in Sandra, we’re putting the trade first and giving every agent the time, tools and tailored campaigns they need to succeed.

This year is on track to be the operator’s most successful year in its history, with demand hitting “unprecedented levels” and departures selling out up to 12 months in advance.
The changes to the trade team have been described as the start of a long-term strategy to deepen trade partnerships.
