British Airways has contacted travel partners to confirm its temporary suspension of short-haul ticket sales from Heathrow will not extend beyond August 15.
Fares will continue to be available via all channels for travel from Monday (August 15).
The flag-carrier announced at the start of August that it would suspend sales of short-haul flights departing from Heathrow until August 8 as the airport attempted to ease disruption during the peak summer season.
It quickly extended the suspension until August 15.
Julia Lo Bue-Said, chief executive of Advantage Travel Partnership, tweeted the announcement, saying it was “good news for passengers and industry”.
Heathrow announced in July it would cap the number of departures at 100,000 per day until September 11 and had urged airlines to curtail new bookings to achieve the target.
The announcement on Friday (August 12) from BA said: “The temporary suspension of our ticket sales for short-haul services from London Heathrow will not be extended and fares will continue to be available via all channels for travel from 15 August 2022.
“We’ll continue to manage bookings to be within the passenger cap so we can get our customers away as planned this summer. We may take targeted action to limit the number of seats or fares available if necessary on certain flights.
“We would like to thank you for your patience as we’ve navigated this challenging period together.”
