Rival airlines are rallying around to offer jobs to 277 Flybe staff made redundant after its collapse on Saturday.
The majority of jobs losses were in Belfast where the regional airline employed 138 people, followed by 99 at Birmingham airport and 69 at Flybe’s head office, also in Birmingham. A further seven were employed at Exeter airport while eight others also lost their roles.
Wizz Air UK is to host special online and in person recruitment events for former Flybe cabin crew and pilots in Birmingham and online.
Pilot can register for an online recruitment event taking place today (Monday) at 1pm while cabin crew can register here to attend recruitment day in Birmingham on February 3 and 4.
EasyJet said it had 250 cabin crew vacancies while Ryanair posted a message on the careers section of its website highlighting jobs available in all categories, including pilots, engineers and ground staff.
Jet2 is hiring cabin crew at Bristol airport and Stansted while British Airways is seeking to fill positions at London City and Gatwick. Tui is hiring for airline staff at Luton, Stansted, Cardiff and Bristol.
