Tui to sponsor event at Manchester Pride

Tui has announced it is sponsoring an event at Manchester Pride this month.

The company is the title sponsor of ‘Family Pride MCR’, which promises a free programme for all ages on August 26.

Tui’s head of brand marketing, Toby Horry, said: “We’re so excited to be sponsoring Manchester Pride this year. We can’t wait to celebrate with our colleagues and show Manchester how much Tui values all our LGBTQ+ colleagues and crew.”

Tui plans to bring kids’ club’s Captain T and “beach-inspired delights” to the family-themed event taking place between noon and 6pm at Great Northern Square, part of the parade route.

A Tui spokesperson said: “Family Pride aims to reshape the narrative around families, recognising the diverse and evolving nature of modern family structures. The vision of the event aligns perfectly with Tui’s ongoing commitment to promoting inclusivity.”

Around 100 walkers from Tui will be taking part in the parade itself, with the company’s float set to give a platform to its LGBTQ+ network which has “helped create great policies for all colleagues”.

Tui’s crew will be joined by Australian comedian Caroline Reid, who portrays an air hostess as her alter ego Pam Ann.

She said: “The aviation world has been a huge part of my life for over two decades, and what better way to enjoy Manchester Pride than with the incredible Tui crew.”

Tui said it will also have a presence at the Gay Village Party, where it will be offering photo opportunities, “chill-out spaces”, competitions and other activities.
