Turkish Airlines budget offshoot AJet to serve Stansted

Ticket sales have opened for Turkish Airlines’ rebranded low cost carrier AJet.

Previously called AnadoluJet, the new-look airline plans to operate a range of services from the UK, including from Stansted to Istanbul.

The wholly-owned subsidiary, which takes off for the first time on March 31, will operate a fleet of 95 aircraft to 44 countries this summer.

A total of 93 destinations will be served, including 41 domestic and 52 international, including the UK.

The sub-brand, which aims for a fleet of 200 aircraft within the next decade, will expand Turkish Airlines’ reach, adding more flights to the group’s existing 360-strong network of destinations.

A company said: “The new airline will offer a more modern, comfortable, and accessible experience for its customers, with plans to become a leading low-cost airline on a global scale, further strengthening its competitive position in the market.”
