CV Villas has unveiled a collection of properties that promote sustainable tourism.
The operator labelled the Positive Impact Collection a “pioneering initiative”, with the aim to encourage responsible travel by providing guests with information on sustainable alternatives and prioritising low-impact transport options.
Each property in the collection has undergone a “rigorous” assessment to ensure it meets high standards in four key areas: supporting local communities by encouraging community development; conservation of local customs, culture and biodiversity; energy efficiency, water conservation and waste reduction initiatives; and promoting eco-conscious transportation.
CV Villas said it would enhance property sustainability with energy-efficient technologies, water-saving measures and carbon footprint reduction strategies.
The collection is supported by the operator’s ongoing partnership with sustainable transport platform Byway, which provides 100% flight-free itineraries to destinations in Europe using buses, trains and ferries.
Villas on offer as part of the collection include Dimora Dieci Coni in Puglia, Italy – where meals are made using produce from an onsite organic vegetable garden and water coolers replace the need for single-use plastic – and Villa Gaea in Elounda, Crete, which has been decorated with local art and furnishings and contributes to local charities and ecosystem restoration initiatives.
Pete Brudenell, managing director of CV Villas, said: “Making a positive impact on the destinations we serve remains at the heart of what we do. With this latest villa collection, we aim to showcase some of the positive and sustainable initiatives happening at our villas as well as offering less impactful ways to travel to our customers.”
