A travel industry outsider has been named as new head of marketing at Not Just Travel.
Josie Allen, with a background in leading campaigns for premium hospitality and lifestyle brands, brings a “modern, data-driven approach” to the home working company.
The 33-year-old is replacing marketing consultant Ben Blackler, who headed the role on a temporary basis. He will continue to assist the business on marketing projects over the next few months.
Her appointment marks the start of an ambitious new phase of brand and digital transformation for the business and its nationwide network of 750 travel consultants.
Allen has been hailed as representing a new generation of marketing leadership in travel.
“Her appointment signals Not Just Travel’s commitment to evolving its brand and consumer engagement to meet the needs of today’s travellers - while supporting over 750 independent Travel Consultants across the UK,” a company statement said.
Allen spent her first week in Mauritius at one of the company’s luxurious Elite Experiences hosted by Beachcomber Tours.
She will also spend a week in intensive induction training, learning and appreciating the skills and tools needed to become a travel consultant.
Allen has worked alongside brands including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Apple and Microsoft.
She “brings valuable experience in connecting aspirational storytelling with measurable business growth - a balance she now aims to embed within Not Just Travel’s marketing strategy,” the company added.
Allen was previously senior marketing and events manager for Marylebone Village and Harley Street Health District in London.
She led marketing strategy for the Marylebone area and worked with Harley Street’s connected community of more than 300 healthcare providers.
Allen said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to join Not Just Travel. The passion, entrepreneurial spirit and care that our travel consultants show for their clients is second to none.
“I’ve worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, but I’ve had the most joy in supporting independent founders, helping to watch them grow and their businesses flourish.
“My focus will be on elevating the brand, strengthening our digital presence, and creating marketing that truly reflects the people and purpose behind every booking.”
Company co-founder Steve Witt said: “Josie’s energy, creativity and forward-thinking approach reflect where Not Just Travel is heading as a business.
“Her experience with premium brands and her instinct for modern marketing will play a pivotal role as we continue to evolve and deliver even more value for our travel consultants and customers.”
