Seven members of staff from Hays Travel have won £3,000 each in the first ‘Big Hays Travel Thank You’ giveaway of 2025.
The reward scheme is designed to “brighten things up as the temperature drops” and sees colleagues in with a chance to win one of seven prizes being given away each month from September to November.
The giveaways are for staff across its Spear Travels, Travel House and Miles Morgan Travel brands, plus in-house tour operator Vista, and those in Hays Travel retail, head office and Personal Travel Consultants homeworking division.
As the year draws to a close, ‘The 12 Hays of Christmas’ returns with daily prizes awarded to winners in each of the seven groups in the first 12 working days of December.
September’s winners were: Fern Holden, aftersales advisor, Vista Aftersales; Lauren Dinsdale, customer relations clerk in customer services; Jacqueline Sutherland, branch manager, Hays Travel Perth; Jacqueline Pitcher, foreign exchange consultant, Hays Travel Deal; Laura Dickenson, travel consultant, Hays Travel Northwich; Macey Welsh, retail apprentice, Hays Travel Cramlington; and Joshua Fogg, retail apprentice, Hays Travel Bulwell.
Dame Irene Hays, owner and chair of Hays Travel, said: “We introduced the Big Hays Travel Thank You as part of our reward and recognition, just to say a massive, massive thank you for everything our colleagues do.”
Apprentice Macey Welsh said: “I feel so incredibly lucky to have been chosen for this award.
“It’s lovely to know that all the hard work I have put in over the past year hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“I wouldn’t have grown to the person I am today if it were not for my lovely team in Cramlington who are all over the moon for me.”
Consultant Laura Dickenson added: “I really cannot believe that I have won. Nothing like this happens to me so I am in shock.”
Clerk Lauren Dinsdale said: “I am honestly completely shocked I won. I really wasn’t expecting it, I’m feeling very grateful.
“The Big Hays Travel Thank You really shows the company’s generosity in giving back to employees and reflects how much the senior team values us.”
