Abta’s Travel Convention returns to Costa Navarino

Abta’s 2024 Travel Convention will be held in Costa Navarino, in the southwest Peloponnese in Greece, from October 7-9.

The convention was previously held at Costa Navarino in 2015, with Navarino Dunes hosting the event shortly after the resort’s launch.

The host partner for this year’s event is the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO).

The association said Costa Navarino, on the shores of the Ionian Sea, is a growing development of mixed-use resorts with luxury hotels, conference facilities, spas, golf courses and private residences.

The local airport is Kalamata and details of flights for attendees will be available soon.

Mark Tanzer, Abta chief executive, said: “Rich in natural beauty and a remarkable cultural heritage, this emerging area of Greece is a brilliant addition to the country’s tourism offering.

“I know our delegates will thoroughly enjoy experiencing everything the area has to offer and raising its profile with UK travellers.

“We’re returning to Greece at a time when the country is developing its tourism offering to attract visitors all-year round.

“With UK holidaymakers increasingly looking to travel out of peak season, I’m excited to offer the opportunity for delegates to explore this destination, which has seen continued development since it hosted the Convention almost 10 years ago.”

Eleni Skarveli, director of the GNTO in UK & Ireland, said: “Nestled in the heart of the Peloponnese, we are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to showcase the epitome of Greek hospitality, the splendour of nature, and the rich cultural tapestry to the British tourism elite.

“We are particularly pleased that Abta’s Convention will align with Greece’s philosophy of a shared commitment to environmental and social responsibility.”

Registration and more details will be available at thetravelconvention.com in the coming weeks.
