Plans have been confirmed for a new winter seasonal night train to the Austrian Alps and Venice.
The overnight journey by private international night train operator European Sleeper connects Belgium and Italy passing through the Netherlands, Germany and Austria.
Twice weekly departures are planned between Brussels and Venice from February 5, 2025, including calls into ski gateways such as Munich, Innsbruck and Bolzano in northern Italy.

A provisional timetable has been drafted as European Sleeper works closely with the relevant authorities to finalise departure and arrival times during February and March next year.
The schedule is designed to cover school holidays and the peak winter sports season.
Bookings are due to open on September 1 with ticket prices for the new winter route, flagged by Travel Weekly in June, to be revealed shortly.
European Sleeper co-founder Chris Engelsman said: “We are pleased to introduce this new night train connection from the North Sea to the Mediterranean.
“Passengers will be able to board our train from Belgium and the Netherlands, and relax in the comfort of the restaurant car, while the train transports them through Germany and Austria, and across the Alps, ending in the historic cities of Verona and Venice the following day.
“This marks a new important milestone for European Sleeper and the convenience of night travel across Europe more sustainably.”
